Introduction

Direct Urgent Care’s desire to provide urgent medical care in a comfortable contemporary environment was met with a design that creates good visibility from the street, an airy lobby with open ceilings, and contemporary finishes and furnishings. The five exam rooms are located on a main corridor that is oriented to bring in natural light from the outside windows. High windows in each exam room then “borrow” that light from the corridor while maintaining patient privacy. At the back of the suite, a staff conference room and break room also have access to natural light, with both using glass walls to allow that light to filter into the back of the main corridor.
