Founded in 2009, Lawrence Rugg architecture is a practice that specializes in both commercial and residential architecture. It is based on a concept of listening, learning, and leading:  listening to both what our clients say and mean; learning about their needs, goals, and aspirations; and leading the process of attaining a creative, practical, timely, and cost-effective solution.

We gain satisfaction from collaborating with people in the successful design and delivery of projects and from furthering the appreciation of good design through our practice; and we draw upon our decades of experience on a wide variety of project types to help our clients gain an attractive and functional project through an orderly process. We acknowledge that architecture is an art, a science (both practical and social), and a business, and that a balance between these components is healthy for our projects, our clients, and us.

We have stayed relatively small in size for a reason: we enjoy a personal, hands-on approach to the design process, where the leadership of our office can be intimately involved from the beginning to the end of a project and our clients can get our personal attention. At the same time, we have extensive experience on projects of all sizes and have the knowledge, experience, and expertise to successfully design and manage them. As a result, much of our work has come from referrals and repeat clients.
